About the Role

As a Drill Bit Repair Technician within our Energy Products and Services division, you will play a key role in maintaining and restoring the performance of Fixed Cutter drill bits. The position requires a hands-on mechanical background and strong experience in assembly and repair, working from detailed engineering drawings while strictly adhering to NOV’s Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards.
You will be part of a dedicated team focused on quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement, ensuring that all tools meet operational standards before being returned to service.

  • Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble and repair Fixed Cutter drill bits according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Perform torch brazing using oxy/acetylene and apply hardfacing using flame spray techniques.
  • Conduct precision grinding using handheld tools and CNC Erfurt grinders.
  • Maintain awareness of workload priorities and ensure all deadlines are met efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with all HSE regulations and internal policies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace at all times.
  • Contribute to process improvements and support other departments as required.
  • Deliver high standards of workmanship and uphold NOV’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
     
  • Qualifications & Skills

    Essential Qualifications

  • City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in an engineering-related discipline, or equivalent vocational training.
  • Proven experience working within an engineering or mechanical assembly environment.
  • Knowledge of mechanical assembly, torch brazing, and grinding operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with welding or related fabrication processes.
  • Prior experience in oilfield equipment repair or similar heavy industry environments
