Wij zijn op zoek naar een Manufacturing Machine Shop Manager die alle verspanings- en productieactiviteiten binnen onze vestiging in Coevorden aanstuurt en integreert. In deze rol rapporteer je aan de Area Manager en ben je verantwoordelijk voor het waarborgen van een efficiënte end-to-end operationele flow, van productieplanning en materiaalbeschikbaarheid tot en met de bewerking en levering van producten volgens specificaties en binnen de gestelde deadlines.
Deze functie speelt een cruciale rol bij het realiseren van bedrijfsdoelstellingen op het gebied van veiligheid, kwaliteit, levering, kosten, groei en personeelsontwikkeling. De nadruk ligt op operationele excellentie, continue verbetering en het vergroten van capaciteit en efficiëntie, terwijl je een cultuur van verantwoordelijkheid, betrokkenheid en veiligheid stimuleert binnen de organisatie.

Zorgen dat producten op tijd, volgens specificaties en klantvereisten worden geproduceerd
Waarborgen dat machines en apparatuur veilig worden gebruikt en optimaal worden onderhouden

Aansturen, coachen en ontwikkelen van supervisors en operationele teams

Kwalificaties & vaardigheden
Essentiële kwalificaties
Bachelor (HBO/WO) in Verspaning, Techniek, Productie of vergelijkbaar, of gelijkwaardige ervaring
Minimaal 3–6 jaar ervaring in een leidinggevende rol binnen productie
Aantoonbare ervaring in machinewerkplaatsen en productieomgevingen
Sterk inzicht in productieprocessen, planning en logistiek
Goede financiële kennis (budgettering, OPEX, CAPEX)
Sterke analytische en probleemoplossende vaardigheden
Goede beheersing van de Engelse taal
Gewenste kwalificaties
Opleiding in business, sales of management
Certificering in Lean Manufacturing of Continuous Improvement
Ervaring in internationale of industriële productieomgevingen

About the Role
We are looking for a Manufacturing Machine Shop Manager to lead and integrate all machining and manufacturing operations at our Coevorden facility. Reporting to the Area Manager, this role is responsible for ensuring the efficient end-to-end operational flow from production planning and material availability through machining and delivery of products to specification and on time.
The role plays a critical part in achieving business objectives related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, growth, and people development. A strong focus will be placed on operational excellence, continuous improvement, and increasing capacity and efficiency while fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and safety across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
Business Growth & Performance
Prepare calculations, quotations, and customer proposals in collaborate with (sales) teams.
drive or support drive business development initiatives / projects related to machining activities.
Participate in negotiations with suppliers and customers where required.
Monitor departmental financial performance including costing, margins, and productivity improvements.
Operational Leadership
Lead and manage the day-to-day machine shop operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective production.
Ensure products are manufactured on time, to specification, and according to customer requirements.
Ensure machinery and equipment are operated safely and maintained to maximize availability and utilization.
People Leadership & Organizational Development
Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and operational teams to build a high-performance culture.
Support and responsible for workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, and succession planning.
Promote accountability, teamwork, and professional conduct aligned with company values.
Continuous Improvement & KPI Management
Establish, monitor, and improve operational KPIs related to productivity, efficiency, and quality.
Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and increase efficiency.
Analyze operational data to identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions.
Quality, HSE & Compliance
Ensure compliance with NOV Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, API) and internal procedures.
Promote a strong Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) culture within the workshop.
Ensure proper reporting and follow-up of incidents, near misses, and customer complaints.
Maintain and improve SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation.
Management & Governance
Participate as an active member of the Site Management Team.
Support cross-functional and corporate initiatives.
Uphold company standards of ethics, compliance, and professional conduct.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential (desired) Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (HBO/WO) in Machining, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 3–6 years of experience in a manufacturing leadership role.
Proven experience in machine shop and production environments.
Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, planning, and logistics.
Solid financial understanding including budgeting, OPEX, and CAPEX management.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong communication skills in English.
Desired Qualifications
Business, sales, or management qualification.
Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
Experience working in international or industrial manufacturing environments.
Additional language skills such as German are considered a plus.
